Create named spots inside a warehouse — a shelf, a bin, a cage, the spot by the front door — each with its own code and colour. Stage materials as On-hold materials: still counted at the warehouse, but listed separately so nobody picks it for another job. Techs get told where to collect it.
On-hold QTY come from three places: a field request line staged for a tech, a pick list line assigned while the order is gathered, or a manual hold with nothing behind it ("keep these four for Monday"). They release when you release them, or automatically when the line stops owing anyone anything.
How to use it: Open your Stock location —> See “on hold” as a new location value and a new tab next to Materials.
