  1. Dark Mode for Ply Web and Mobile Application

We’d like to request the option to enable Dark Mode in Ply, both in the web browser and the mobile application. What We're Requesting: A toggle or setting within Ply that allows users to switch between Light Mode and Dark Mode across all platforms - mirroring what many modern SaaS platforms offer today. Ideally, this could also respect system-wide preferences, automatically adapting to the user's device settings. Why This Would Be Beneficial: For users working long hours, especially in low-light environments or at night, dark mode greatly reduces eye fatigue. This is especially helpful when reviewing long catalogs, reports, or switching between job details throughout the day. Enhanced Accessibility Dark mode can provide improved contrast and readability for users with visual impairments or light sensitivity, making Ply more inclusive. Battery Efficiency on Mobile Devices Dark mode can reduce battery usage on OLED mobile screens - an important quality-of-life improvement for techs and admins who rely heavily on mobile usage in the field. Consistency Across Tools Many of our other software tools and systems offer dark mode, so switching between them and Ply feels disjointed without it. Adding dark mode would bring Ply in line with current UX standards and expectations. Suggested Implementation Ideas: Allow users to toggle dark mode in user preferences/settings. Optionally, support auto-detection of system theme settings (light/dark). Include support for both web and mobile versions of the app. We believe this feature would significantly enhance user experience for a wide range of Ply users, from field techs using the mobile app at night to admins working across multiple tools during long days.

  2. Ability to See Who Created and Finished a Job in Ply

Currently, the Activity tab within a job only shows users who transferred or added materials to the job. We’d like to be able to see who created the job and who marked it as finished.

  3. Add Consumables to Field Request funciton

We are utilizing the Field Requests function to place material restock or orders for our construction side of our plumbing business. I do not want to convert these into materials as these are non-sellable items that we use to get the job done. Things like glove refill, mc tank refills, replenish for solder, are crucial things for us to make sure our techs keep on the job site and keep working.

  6. Ply PO Line Item Reordering Issue

Issue: When editing a Purchase Order in Ply, line items are reshuffled into a different order each time. This is not isolated to a single PO β€” it occurs across all POs upon editing. Impact: This makes it very difficult to track and reconcile items, especially when working on large POs that require careful line-by-line review. Steps to Reproduce: Open any existing PO in Ply Make an edit Observe that line items are reordered/reshuffled Expected Behavior: Line items should retain their original order after edits are made.

  8. Transfer Material from Job to Job

Often times we are unable to get material in on time so we will borrow material from one job in the meantime material arrives. This is very common due to living in Hawaii we only get Boat or Air shipments.

  9. Allow Technicians to Approve Inventory Count

I would like to see a permission added that allows technicians to perform and submit their own inventory counts (after the office assigns them), as well as process their own replenishments once the office creates them. We are a small company and currently only have one full-time technician. We plan on adding another tech soon and sticking with PLY throughout or company growth. Right now, I have to give him full admin access just so he can complete an inventory count on his truck and pick/complete replenishments without my involvement. Ideally, I would like a permission level that allows techs to: Count and submit their own truck inventory Pick and complete replenishments assigned to them Process replenishments though all stages after they are created by the office This would eliminate the need for me to manually approve all 99 inventory items on his truck after he counts and personally process every replenishment after creating it.

  10. Ability to merge/combine multiple Purchase Orders into one

Customers occasionally end up with two (or more) separate POs that they'd like to combine into a single PO β€” most commonly when a purchase was accidentally split, or when they want to consolidate multiple draft/pending orders to the same supplier before sending. There is currently no way to merge POs in Ply; the only workaround is manually re-adding line items from one PO into another via "Add Items," then cancelling the duplicate. Allow users to select two or more existing POs (same supplier only, since a PO is tied to a single vendor) and merge them into one consolidated PO β€” combining line items, quantities, and totals, and archiving/cancelling the source POs automatically once merged.

  14. Allow users to choose whether materials sync to HCP Job Inputs or Line Items on a job-by-job basis

Customer would like the option to choose whether items sync to Job Inputs or Line Items in HouseCall Pro on a job-by-job basis when syncing HCP invoices. Currently, the HCP invoice sync can only be configured to send items either to Job Inputs or directly to the invoice Line Items section, but not both.

  15. Report/Filter: Materials Still Assigned to Finished Jobs Not Returned to Warehouse

Customers have no self-service way to identify materials that remain assigned to a Finished Job but were never transferred back to their originating warehouse or truck. This is especially relevant for reusable/non-consumed items (e.g., storage bins, tools, or other returnable materials) that techs pull for a job and forget to transfer back once the job is closed. Proposed Solution: Add a filterable view/report (could live under Reports or as a new filter on the Jobs tab) that surfaces: Material name / item code Category or material type (to filter by things like "Bin") Job # / Job name Job status = Finished Quantity still attached to the job Date the job was marked Finished Origin location (warehouse/truck it was pulled from) This would let admins periodically audit and recover materials β€” especially reusable, non-consumed items β€” left on closed jobs.
